So here it is, my first blog.
What’s it all about then?
I’m Steve, I’m 52 and ill, in fact very ill. This all came as a huge surprise as just a few years ago I was super fit. Let me explain. I have always been active, I played rugby, taught kickboxing and went to the gym 5 or 6 times a week. Spin 3 times a week and weights 5 times a week was the norm. As a cop I had an active job. To relax a few hours scuba diving hit the spot.
And now….I’m not.
I have always had asthma, as a child it affected me a lot, but didn’t stop me from being as active as I could, picking up injuries on the way. By the time I was 40 I thought I had grown out of it, how wrong I was.
Diabetes struck at the peak of my physical fitness. Carpal tunnel, and arthritis settled in my hands. You wouldn’t believe how painful typing this blog is.
I have always had a predisposition to depression, something I picked up from my mum. Sadly my children seem to have the same. Anxiety started this year.
Sleep apnea came about 2 years ago.
Injuries include a debilitating back injury, both knee’s, shoulder, broken elbow, multiple muscle and tendon tears, Im sure others will pop into my head later.
Hi, if you want to help set up this blog a donation would help. Thank you in advance.
